Spoiled But NOT a Brat

I’m alone. Free. Independent. Self-supporting. It’s tough. But, I’m fine… Yes, very tired every single day especially when it’s full flight where I don’t get much time to at least sit during the coarse of the flight but I’m fine. And I love it. I like it when I’m tired. And yes that makes me weird.

I can go wherever I want because of the bidding system where you can bid any of Qatar Airways’ more than 80+ destinations. Yes, I truly have the choice to go elsewhere across Europe, South Africa, Asia & United States that has definitely higher meal allowance & more flying pay than Manila but my choice will still be Manila. And yes that makes me weird.

Most people always have the shocking reaction every time they found out that I have 3-4 Manila Flight every month and still want more. It’s just that, I am truly missing home and flying to Philippines gives me the comfort of being home. And yes that makes me weird.

Things are so different now. I have to do everything on my own, unlike living with my family – When I wake up, someone makes up the bed for me, my breakfast is ready, driver starts the engine, my brother parks the car for me, My clothes are all instantly clean and iron. Go home. My piano teacher comes twice a week, Attending Sunday Mass, Play with my lil’ sis and my puppy, When I get hungry in the middle of the night, food is given to me.

Sarap ng buhay ko dba? Pero hindi dapat ganun. Some might even think that it’s stupid of me to have left my home where I was a “princess”… but, NO. That’s not how life should be.

My mom wasn’t from rich family, neither grew up wealthy but she worked damn hard to give us the life that we have now, and I know it was not easy at all. It was rags to riches story just like in teleseryes!

I want to work hard. I do work hard. I love to work. And right now, this job is one of my greatest challenges in life. This is where, I give the greatest task of my life. And I don’t just mean at work…. I’m pertaining to my life here, alone. My life without yayas, without Mom, without my siblings, without my best friends, and almost everyone I know who’d always spoil me.

I’m used to living within my means now and doing the laundry and the grocery, cooking for myself, washing the dishes, making up my bed, cleaning my toilet and cleaning my room I even associate cleaning as my exercise… I need to keep reminding myself that I’m never alone… never… because God is with me… God is everywhere… His opinion of me matters to me the most… not the world’s opinion of me..

Christmas & New Year Scenes

When I was a kid I used to dream of a white Christmas and as flight attendant, I guess I’ve experienced it all. Be it, green, blue or white christmas but no matter how far the distance I have travelled. I will still returned to a place called Home…

I flew to Manila on the 24^th of December through a Boeing 777 aircraft as expected we landed earlier than scheduled arrival around 2:30pm but due to the traffic because of the Filmfest Parade that afternoon we’ve reach Diamond Hotel in Roxas Blvd. very late, passed 5pm already.

I really enjoyed every moment, spent the whole time eating delicious home-cooked meals and sinful desserts! Then we gather around the tree to open our presents, Alma was the one hosting the gift giving while we were simply waiting for our names to be called. Our house is filled with laughter. Then later on made myself busy singing over the course of the evening while my cousins are enjoying their wine in the pool area.

The following day, I flew back to Doha with such a nice crew and supervisor. While my family and cousins flew to Hongkong via Philippine Airline to spent my mom’s birthday and New Year there. I guess that’s the main thing my family and I have in common, we all love to travel!

The capacity of the aircraft that we’ve used has 42 seats in Business Class and 293 seats in Economy but we only have less that a hundred passengers in economy + 5 person in Business class. Very light load! Who wants to travel during Christmas day anyway? Except for business travelers maybe like Ms. Pinky Aquino (Kris Aquino’s sister) is one of our passenger that time, she even gave a greeting card to all the crew and were very nice. After 9hrs travel time I’ve landed in Doha around 12:05 am of December 26, slept then same day pick to Manila again!

Even if my whole family is in Hongkong (Dec27) my friends didn’t make me feel alone. They pick me up in the hotel as soon as I arrived then went to Mall of Asia, ate in Don Henricos, had an ice cream dessert in White Hat, watch a movie then Starbucks afterwards. Really had a great time! Indeed a Happy day prelude to a New Year!

BER months means the holiday season is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Even some friends of mine started anticipating the start of the BER months very early and we are greeting each other Merry Christmas! I love the holidays and the joy it brings. Always remember that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season and he is the epitome of true love… I wish everyone a Merry Christmas! God bless us all.

November Roster gave me 4 Manila flights – This month of December I have 3! Yehey! Such a Good News!

I really cried when I saw my December Roster because it’s what I’ve been praying for (Tears of Joy!) – to spend Christmas with my family and fortunately, I have flight to Manila on 24-25th! Just in time for Noche Buena. Further more, I’ll also be in Manila on my Mom’s Birthday on 27-28th! God is so good! I’m so thankful for all the blessings!

GMA 7 Taping in our House!

Sine Novela Presents: Ngayon At Kailanman is a Philippine Drama on GMA Network. The original movie was released back in 1992 starring Sharon Cuneta & Richard Gomez. Now The series stars Heart Evangelista and JC De Vera.

The story begins in Hacienda Noche where Ayra Noche (Heart Evangelista) and Edwin Torres (JC De Vera) are best friends. Later on, they develop a love relationship. When Ayra’s father, Don Artemyo (Charlie Davao) finds out about this, the two are separated and Don Artemyo forced Ayra to move to United States. When Ayra returns, she finds out that Don Artemyo died and Ayra’s brother, Ronald (Luis Alandy) blames Edwin for it. Ayra listens to Ronald. Ayra also finds out that Edwin became the new owner of Hacienda Noche after Don Artemyo’s death. Ayra and Edwin become big time rivals. Ayra wants the Hacienda back but Edwin says no.

What makes this really worse is that Edwin has a new girlfriend named Donna Benitez (Arci Munoz). Donna feels hatred for Ayra and comes up with schemes for Ayra and Edwin. But soon, Edwin tricks Ayra into loving him.

So the Story Goes… (July Vacation Summary)

Living in my mom’s mansion is like living in a holiday resort. It’s a real comfort zone, every corner of the house are elegantly furnished and well decorated. It made me realized what I’m missing. I’m missing the life that I used to have. Few more flights & Travels and I might resign next year! I will resign NOT because I’m getting married, I will resign because I miss my life and I want to focus on managing my business, list goes on…

My leave started dining out in Pepper Lunch at Rockwell, shop 2 Carts of Groceries in Duty Free, Ate in Aristocrat Roxas Blvd. Then Went home in our previous house to get some stuff & check my mails then slept in our new home for the 1^st time.

My family & visitors can have an option to have breakfast by the poolside in our backyard, have lunch casually by the Zen type dining table in the kitchen or dine in the contemporary dining table at the other corner of the house with the view of the pool area or in one of the spacious balcony around the house, in façade or better yet eat while standing on the nook located in bar area. If your choice is none of the above then you can be humble to dine with the maid or driver in the mini-kitchen like my mom!

One gloomy day, my little sister Kristine and I decided to swim but it was very cold. Since it’s not sunny, I invited Christian to jog with me around the subdivision but to my surprise in the middle of our jog it became sunny! Thank God I have my umbrella with me! The 2 of us just ended up walking around. The neighborhood is very peaceful, the only public transport inside the village is 1 shuttle bus available 24hrs, security guards are patrolling from time to time, other homeowners are just busy gardening during that morning while some are cleaning their cars and polite enough to say Good Morning with a smile!

Few blocks away from our place was Maruja’s house (featured in my previous blog), I really like that house, it was so big and nicely landscaped, their swimming pool even have a bridge and no need to mention it was PINK! Loveeet!

Also saw Director Wenn Deramas’ corner house, they said Gabby Concepcion & Lorna Tolentino started filming new teleserye entitled “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” in that house. Ok enough of those Teleserye stories back to my vacation leave topic! Haha! The following evening was our house blessing & Christian’s sweet 16^th birthday celebration but it’s like a debut celebration! He has 16 gifts, 16 wish, etc. It was raining the whole day so the LCD projector was installed late but the party went well, and the menu from the caterer is nice.

Blue Water Day Spa

Next day, went to Baguio with Jero, walk around Burnham Park and SM, stayed in Veniz Hotel in front of Burnham Park then Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto the following day. I want to see lots of places such as mines view, etc but still have business to do for the day so we went back to their Goldland Resort, pick up some documents in pawnshops and visit their Drive-in-Hotel (Also owned by them) to pick up some stuff and to try our Guns in the mini-firing range!

July 21 – Is a long day, I was invited as a guest speaker at NCBA (National College of Business and Arts) for their 3^rd-4^th year HRM student with Tourism subject. The discussion firmly focuses on my travels to different countries, International Tourism, customer related information and life as a flight attendant. My speech only last 40-50 minutes but the question and answer portion made my stay longer. At first they were hesitant to ask, Later on they started calling Ma’am Star! Ma’am Star! Ma’am Star from each corner of mini theater room even some professors asked few questions too. It turns out to be a conference! After the speech went to HRM room to have lunch courtesy of the School’s Dean. Then went to Gateway Mall simply because of craving Dairy Queen Ice Cream! Then went Blue Water day spa to have a soothing massage. Later that evening, we’re all in family hall having fun with videoke! (Will upload the pictures later)

July 22 – Jero’s family went over because they want to buy the 750sq. meters Mansion beside our house. It was initially offered to us by then P16Million! But months after my mom bought our house, the P16Million mansion decrease it’s price for only P10Million! Sayang sana yun nalang nabili ni Mama! Same price but much bigger! 6 Cars will fit in the garage! The owner said the reason why the value decreases was because nobody affords it and naremata na lang sa bank! (Foreclosed property) Sayang talaga! But anyway, Jero’s mom are interested to buy it but to my dismay it’s already SOLD the day before Jero’s mom went there to inquire!!! Sayang! Sayang talaga! Kung sila nakabili edi sana neighbor ko lang ang family ko in the future when I got married!

Burnham

We’re eyeing on the other house on sale but it’s not finalized yet dahil busy na ang sched ni Tita no time na to see the interior setting of the house and nagdadalawang isip pa because the garage can only fit 2 cars! Yes, it is a problem! & parang hindi ko masyado gusto ’cause the design was too simple (see here) then color beige pa parang ang dull, gusto ko bright colors! (Like this one) pero bakit ba ako nakikielam hindi naman ako ang bibili! Hehehe!

Before I left, we headed to Antipolo Church, it has always been my ritual to visit Our Lady of Peace & Good Voyage on all my vacation leave. Later on, went to SoleMare Parksuites near Mall of Asia to see the developments. They said they will turnover the unit on December 2010, While my condo in McKinley Hill-The Fort will be on June 2012. Maybe by that time I should still have my nightstop kit or suitcase with me so that I can sleep over wherever I preferred!

My Mama’s Mansion

My mom like everyone else always dream of a house, she successfully owned a house but still dreams of a bigger house with swimming pool. She used to say “maybe not now but sooner or later, I know that dream house will come – in God’s will.” After years of hard work & investments here’s the result!

OUR NEW HOME in an exclusive subdivision in the heart of Quezon City! where most of the local movies, teleseryes and commercials were being shot.with Swimming pool, 2 Jacuzzi, 5 Bedrooms with maid’s room, 3 spacious balcony, Attic on 3rd floor & grand staircase. Worth $230,000 US Dollar paid in cash and yet she doesn’t want to sell our other house ( http://starvillanueva.multiply.com/p hotos/album/61/My_HOME_Sweet_HOME ) for a very sentimental reason and because it’s where it all started. In short, it’s a lucky house.

Looking at those advertisements about Homes for Sale inspires me a lot that someday I will be owning one of the fabulous house. Every one dream as I do. Who doesn’t want a house on their own? Of course no one wants to stick in just renting a house or company provided apartments. But in the process of living we will start at a low level. It’s not quiet that easy. It might not happen overnight, but if you stay focused and have a strong faith to God, what you want should eventually come your way in his will.

Maruja

Few Blocks away from our house in Casa Milan, I saw the house being used for the taping of Maruja. Also saw the location shoot of another TV show from ABS-CBN “Your Song” in the clubhouse on the same day. The caretaker of the subdivision said Casa Milan are amongst the favorite location shoot of local movies, commercials & teleseryes and even asking us if we can add our house to their list for future location tapings.

If you were a fan of Supernatural or Ghost Whisperer, you would surely love the series – Maruja. It comes with simple special effects compared to other horror stories but those are enough to give you goose bumps. Besides, having grotesque effects would only turn it into a comedy. It is the story that will grip you. And of course the way the story is being told. There is so much mystery!

Merry Month of May

“Life is about getting the things you want the way you want it to be”

3 Manila Flight: I swapped my 4 days roster Munich-Germany and 2 days roster Milan-Italy while the 3^rd one is pulled out from Standby! It’s my 1^st time to be pulled out to operate Manila so I 19m so happy when they called unexpectedly! I had a nice time during the flight because of Filipina Mafia, around 9 hrs flying time is not that tiring – but for sure I gained weight because I can’t stop myself from habitual eating even if I’m not hungry! And everyone has food to share, from Najji 19s Pichi-Pichi & Puto, Tanj- Adobo, Michelle, Chicken Tocino, Giony- Ensaymada, Clarissa – Cheddar Popcorn and my Cinabbon Roll we just ate, munch and laugh whenever time permits!

While in Manila, I just do my usual errands, church visit, grocery, massage, facial, manicure, bought another shith zu with Jero in Tiendesitas, dinner in Burgoo-Timog. And because he knows I felt bad for not being able to attend Levi’s Sale in Greenbelt, he just surprise me with one. The next day, ate in Aristocrat-Roxas Blvd.

Then I went home, my family didn’t know I was coming. We celebrated my little sister’s pre-birthday at 10 in the evening, Gave my post Mother’s day gift and my belated birthday gift for my sister all at the same time. What a Cabin Crew life!

After trying my portable steam bath went to our new house in Casa Milan but the renovations are still going on and my mom are still busy enhancing the house’s security, completing the appliances, furniture and repainting the exterior and interior of the house so there’s no much pictures yet but a sneak peak!

Few Blocks away, I saw the house being used for the taping of Maruja (See Pics here). Also saw the location shoot of another show from ABS-CBN ‘Your Song’ in the clubhouse on the same day.

Then on my 3^rd Manila flight, I went to Global City – The Fort to see the model unit of Megaworld 19s Mckinley Hills I’ve been eyeing that project since December 2007. Now I’m torn between McKinley Hill, The Fort and Century City in Makati. Anyway, I’ll just blog about it some other time when everything is finalized already. My Journey to buying a perfect condo! Hehe!
