Time Flies When You’re Having Fun & Adventure!

Published September 8, 2010 by starvillanueva

One Sunday morning, my family and I didn’t have any plan but it turned out to be my favorite day of the month! (August) Headed to Serendra & Market Market Mall in Global City during its SALE day so we we’re inside the mall from morning till evening without noticing it. Spent the whole day, fitting clothes & shoes! And satisfying our cravings in some food chains such as Zagu, New York Fries and New York Hotdogs! Then later on had dinner in Kamayan buffet restaurant! I think I totally forgot that there’s this word called “Diet!”

Then saw the wall climbing it’s kinda cool, but gravity is something that everybody should be scared of. This kind of activity is easy but even with the gears, there’s still a chance for these gears to malfunction so, you just have to be careful everytime you do this kind of stuff.

It was my brother who climbed first. Then I accompanied my sister. While looking at how steep the rock was, I fearlessly started to hit the rock and grab anything I can hold on to with my hand. Though I’m a first time climber, I wasn’t scared at all because I love heights! and it was actually safe because of the gears that they let us use. The wall also has certain stages of varying difficulty depending on your experience and capability. There is what they call the 90-degree wall, for beginners. The wall is just flat and doesn’t have many obstacles all you need is to power lift and push yourself up.

I wasn’t wearing the right clothes and shoes (just rented proper shoes) because it’s not planned at all. I really had so much fun! I wish I can’t go to different wall climbs as often as I want to!

As we walked around Serendra, I’ve been spotted to do a 10 seconds commercial and mini-photoshoot for Fox Channel! I’m glad my mom also have her camera with her the whole time because my Sony digicam kept on vibrating like a cellphone on a vibrate mode! It produces blurry pictures!

The happenings didn’t end there! Also went to McKinley Hills to check the developments of my condo. I love the ambience in Venetian Mall though it’s a mimicked version it still reminds me of Venetian Mall in Las Vegas that I visited early this year and Venetian Mall in Macau.

There’s more! The night didn’t end there. Before they start calling me “Indianera” for not showing up every time they invite me, I’ve decided to meet my friends at Starbucks in Rockwell Makati. We spent more than 3hours of non-stop laughter! Abby – my colleague from the airline just arrived that time, I’m glad she didn’t forget to bring the Alviero Martini passport holder & wallet that I asked her to buy during her recent flight to Rome, Italy.

It’s Been Awhile…

Published September 7, 2010 by starvillanueva

It’s been awhile since my last post. Lack of time and interest has been solely responsible for this but actually there are tons of things to write about and happenings to share.

Flights have been great. I’m so thankful that I do fly to Manila more than 4 times per month plus the additional other flights that they will give me. I don’t care about the new destinations and new routes we fly to anymore. Whether I already been there or not it doesn’t matter anymore. I just want to go home, period.

I’m not in the mood to post a really long post, so will just briefly list out some things that I have done in the last few weeks. Just last month I’ve had another vacation leave. It was supposed to be 6 days but luckily I was given additional days offs and a night departure flight (That makes it almost 11 days).

Everyday I’m dropping by at Star Bliss Spa in Timog Ave. Corner Scout Torillo to get some pampering. Be it to start my day with a mani/ped or to finish my evening with a soothing massage or to accompanied the other FA’s on the flight. One time I was there at the spa, my staff saw Sen. Chiz Escudero on the nearby parking lot waiting for his car to be fixed. They called him and insisted to just wait inside the spa! Since he already went there before he agreed to have a back massage while waiting!  Mr. Jojo Alejar & Jay Manalo is also our regular customer but I’m not around every time they visits.

My college best friend Riva also visited me then the later on another friend (Emgie from Singapore) surprised me too! “Pag talaga hindi planado natutuloy!” Riva,Glacie & I we’re having dinner at Off The Grill just accross Star Bliss when Emgie came, Then we started calling Ayi, Rina & Em if they can drop by din coz we were the ones na super close since day one of college! We enjoyed catching up and reminisce the good old days while Emgie’s kids are having a kiddie massage treats in the 2nd floor…

The next few days my cousins Ate Arlene & Andrea came over. Now my spa also serves as a good place to chill & hangout while being pampered! Mainly for the convinience of the location with lots of Parking space and because of the establishments around the area. If you want the place to be rented (6-15 person) Just message us at http://www.facebook.com/starbliss.spa

Fun-Filled Tagaytay Zipline Adventure

Published July 19, 2010 by starvillanueva

“When you’re with your family, it’s always a precious moment that money can’t buy”

The Day Started by attending  an early mass at Antipolo Church (around 4am) and a Coffee zip in Mcdonalds! Then my mom and I saw the Tagaytay Zipline on a Newspapers’ frontpage!  Since we were blessed with bright rays of sunshine and no sign of rain that morning, we thought of going to Tagaytay! Tagaytay is one of the place my family and I always visit, it’s near, it’s cool, it’s refreshing.

This time, we tried Picnic Groves’ Zipline! I love the feeling I get when the adrenaline is pumping through my body! Whether that be from bungee jumping, roller coasters, Parajump, skydiving, or other activities, I cannot seem to get enough of it. Some might call me an adrenaline junky since I am always looking for the next adventure!

We all soared above a lush jungle on a zipline! Since we are in the Philippines and not America, the safety regulations are quite different this giving you the option to be strapped in however you wish. My choice was to fly face first while lying on my stomach, like Superman. (Since I already tried being strapped in Harness while sitted in Singapore’s Sentosa Zipline which I should blog next time.) You are secured by a few straps that are supposed to be one size fits all. My 10-year-old sister and I both had the same size of harness.

I felt extremely secure because the strap was invading my personal space. Besides flying higher than a football field above the ground, the view encompasses a reflection of the center part of the volcano off the crater lake that has formed from a previous explosion. Best part above all (in my opinion) is that they have their own photographer to click a photo of you while your up in the air! The Photo will be given after 10-15mins! Wow! I love souvenir photos especially rare moment ones!

After Picnic Grove had an early dinner at Josephine’s, Starbucks and Tierra de Maria. With its cool climate and close proximity to Manila, Tagaytay has evolved from a mere quaint, transient stopover to one of the country’s favorite holiday and weekend retreats. What’s so special about Tagaytay? The food, the place, the climate, the price – everything except that it will probably make you fat to go there often!

My Very Own Star Bliss Salon & Spa

“Be Pampered Like a Star…”

Every once in a while, we all deserve to indulge and pamper ourselves so we can recharge our tired mind and body. I’ve always enjoyed pampering myself by going to spas. Just early this year my mom and I went to The Spa then out of nowhere we had a conversation about starting our own spa business. It was more on kwentuhan lang na parang nangangarap because It’s my dream talaga to have my own spa since I‘m a self confessed spa addict. I didn’t know that my mom was so serious regarding our conversation! Nagulat na lang ako meron na daw 2-storey space for rent siya na nakita, the location was very nice. It‘s in Timog Cor. Scout Torillo in Quezon City (in front of Off The Grill-Near Jade Valley) it’s near lots of restaurant so that it would be convenient for our customers to buy snacks in case they got hungry and also walking distance from condos, schools & other establishments and there are many parking lots available.

 * I’m planning to put up a branch near my condo in Mckinley, if anyone is interested to franchise just let me know.
The treatment rooms/beds has the warm and luxurious feel, enhanced further by ambient lighting and the sweet scent of aromatic essential oil in the 2nd floor for massage, scrubs & waxing services, while the 1st floor mainly caters foot spa, manicure, pedicure & Hair Spa services. (Will post the list of services soon).

* Pang billboard sa Edsa hehe!

Last year, I already set my mind that I’m going to resign this year, but while my spa is under construction, I overspend unexpectedly then decided to extend my flying career a “bit” more!

Quiet Mountain Retreat

Published March 2, 2010 by starvillanueva

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”

A short 45-minute drive from the City’s major commercial areas will bring you to the property. We keep coming back to this resort not because of their casino but because of their ambiance, it’s a nice place to relax and unwind. It was located on top of the hill with an open pool overlooking a golf course, Laguna de Bay during daytime and the Metro Manila skyline at nighttime.

Around the facility can be enjoyed various recreation and leisure amenities, such as a charming infinity pool and outdoor Jacuzzi that overlooks serene Laguna de Bay and surrounding mountain ranges, meditation nooks, jogging paths, and kiddie playground for the young ones.

For the adult crowd, the resort offers the world-class Fiesta Casino, open for leisure and gaming needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hotel guests can feel right at home in the comfort of the gaming facilities, which are inspired by a fusion of classical Spanish and modern Filipino architecture reminiscent of a remote tropical island paradise.

For a relaxing weekend escape – Thunderbird & Goldland Spring Resort – is the perfect destination. As the name implies, these hotel chains is raring to soar high!

Flying High at 25!

Published February 5, 2010 by starvillanueva
“The secret to happiness is to embrace and appreciate everything that happens in your life. Take life easy and count your blessing… “

Planning for a birthday party is never an easy task. There are many things to consider and prepare for and since I’ve been flying a lot and I’m not based in Manila I handed over all the obligations to my sister Alma, besides from being an HRM college professor, she’s also a well-experienced event planner in fact she’s one of the coordinator of my 18th birthday held at Coconut Palace it was the biggest & grandest celebration I ever had!

Some 25 year olds might be thinking that they want their party to be a little more grown-up but I want my party to be close to my personality. Jolly, lively & Happy.  So we’ve conceptualized to make my profession as my theme for the party. Flight Attendants, Boarding pass invitations, Airplanes, Check-in Counter, and Baggage Counter – An Airport aura!
It was held in Shangri-la Restaurant at West Ave. QC. The party started around 7:30 pm. It started with a song number “Beautiful Girl” by Jose Mari Chan. (It was a nice classic love song. I really like songs that make me feel serenaded that’s why most of my favorite songs are sung by male artists.) Since I don’t have an escort/partner or whatever you wanna call it, hehe! My 16yrs old brother came to the stage to dance me! “Tawa tuloy ako ng tawa sa stage kasi sabi ko wag na ako isayaw magmumukang JS Prom ang party! Hahaha!”

I actually have no idea what’s in the program so everything is a surprise for me! I felt like a guest to my own party! Hehe! My sister didn’t even bother to tell me at least the sequence of the things that’s going to happen! At one point I was busy table hopping then I’ll just hear the host calling my name and believe it or not I haven’t watch the AVP until it was played during my birthday itself! But credits to Ingrid Cabrido for the well edited video presentation.

After the AVP, another song rendered by the singer/host  from Abs-Cbn’s Singing Bee – Christopher Cose, entitled “How did you Know” (I never get tired of listening to this song everyday!) from what I remember, the chinese cuisines main course are already being served at this time.

There’s more… there’s also a game! Mechanics are very easy, You must be able to say “Would you like Chicken or Beef” after drinking a pure calamansi extract! Most of the participants are the 4 pretty attendants during my birthday! They are the one in-charge in the registration/check in counter and lead guests to their seats. (I forgot to thank them during my speech (my apologies) pero super thanks talaga sa efforts. I’ll tell Alma to give you all a hundred score sa exam! Hehe Joke!)

It was all good. Very worth it… I won’t mention any names na to avoid tampuhan, but thanks sa lahat ng pumunta you made it more special than it already was…THANKS for flying with me…
